At AUTOTESTCON 2008, Dr. David Gordon will be presenting a paper on "Documentation Accountability: Approval to Archiving" for test data preparation, approval, and archiving. The presentation will be September 10 at 8:00 AM in the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. You can also visit the DMLGroup expo booth September 9-11.
The JARIS knowledge management system will be the focus of the presentation. The paper abstract is:
Knowledge management systems (KMSs) are a mature information technology often used to accumulate policies and procedures in an accessible framework. However, the usefulness of a KMS depends on its capabilities and the users: a KMS is only useful if it contains a certain quantity and quality of information. A good KMS can increase information quantity by making documentation processes faster and can increase information quality by ensuring accountability throughout the testing process. This paper illustrates how the KMS, JARIS, can streamline each test phase, from approval to archiving, by reducing paper documentation and increasing information accountability and accessibility.

Today, DMLGroup's newest training system, eSimon™, will enter beta testing.
The core feature of eSimon is a powerful software simulator, which allows learners to experience real-life situations in which they'd use a software system. Using eSimon, learners click through a working software mock-up while conversing with simulated customers. eSimon provides learners with a life-like customer-agent experience or coaching experience far beyond what is possible with screenshot- or flash-based imitations. Learners can also go beyond simulations and practice roleplay and directed learning scenarios from the same core interface. Mentors can even see what learners did in the software and hear what they said to the customer.
And the best part: eSimon makes full-scale simulations possible over the web, through any SCORM-compliant LMS! eSimon is a "smart client" application that allows transparent installation and updates through a standard web browser.
eSimon is based on our popular SIMON 400 instructional system, which has been disinvested with the release of eSimon. Current clients with active support agreements will be migrated. Please contact your representative at DMLGroup for details.
